Finalize the Scope

By this point in the engagement, the project scope will be settled on: What’s “in the cart and what’s not”.

For a training project, the scope may be documented in a course outline, curriculum map, etc. We offer two examples: A curriculum map for a large effort and a detailed course outline for a single three-day course.

Create the Project Plan

Now, we have clarity to get to work. As with other objects, we can use multiple approaches or modalities

Generally, we begin with the end in mind—just as we design training. We think in terms of outcomes: When work needs to be done, who will do it, how we’ll review draft products, then dates for the client review and time for revisions.

One Other Thing…

We did not to post other Planning objects, such as the Cost Analysis, Budget, Resource Plan, Communication Plan, Risk Register, etc. because they contain private information.
